Analysis by micro-ATR with a 610-IR single element detector. Spectra were collected in 5 seconds, compared visually and then subtracted to gain a better understanding of the contaminant. The spectra were compared to in-house and commercially-available spectral libraries to identify the source of the contamination in the manufacturing process — in this case, the wearing of a plastic O-ring.
